Periodic radio communication with friends, fellow hams locally(vhf/uhf comm), across the country (hf comm) and world wide (hf comm)
Field Day/Special Events: Participate in ARRL(American Radio & Relay League) sponsored Field Day etc. Field Day is a classic opportunity for fun and public service at the same time, and special event stations can create enjoyable fellowship while promoting Amateur Radio.
