Our Mission:

Who we are:

Several of Wayne, NJ based licensed amateur radio enthusiasts having association with Community Emergency Response Team(CERT), Search & Rescue Team, Office of Emergency Management formed this club in the fall of 2013. Our station call sign is WN2RC. Wayne-NJ Amateur radio club is an affiliate of Amateur radio Relay League(ARRL).  We have membership from Wayne and other neighboring cities. Membership is open to any person interested in Amateur Radio technology and usage.

What we (plan to) do:

  • Public Service
Emergency communication: Support Office of Emergency Management(OEM) offices, on request, with radio communication during disaster, flood, hurricane.
Community Service: Support important social events, e.g. bike rally, marathon, county fair etc.
  • Fun, Entertainment and Fellowship building:
Periodic radio communication with friends, fellow hams locally(vhf/uhf comm), across the country (hf comm) and world wide (hf comm)
Field Day/Special Events: Participate in ARRL(American Radio & Relay League) sponsored Field Day etc. Field Day is a classic opportunity for fun and public service at the same time, and special event stations can create enjoyable fellowship while promoting Amateur Radio.
Antenna building: A great fun opportunity to learn radio technology. A wonderful service from Radio Club by helping individual hams meet others and promote mutual help. Many Clubs raise funds building and selling high-demand antennas
Monthly Net Meeting: Another fun opportunity to communicate with club members and fellow HAMs on topics of importance.
  • Training & Development:
License Training: A great opportunity to learn radio technology
Radio license test: Periodically run test Sessions(Technician, General and Extra).
Invite guest speakers to lecture on interesting radio technology topics, and technology updates.
Field Trip: Visit local radio or TV stations, electronics firms or police communications center.
